The amount of Spam I'm getting has suddenly increased (with Junk Mail filters enabled), why is that?

The principal reasons for suddenly getting more spam despite the Junk Mail Filter being active include :-

1. Your spam mailbox is full
2. Your spam mailbox is disabled (due to not having been accessed in for an extended period of time.)

You can resolve the first issue yourself by clearing the mail from the mailbox yourself, by so doing allowing spam to be delivered to it once more.
