How can I sync my Webmail calendar to my Android smartphone with CalDAV?

The Android operating system does not support CalDAV sync using the built-in Calendar application, however a number of third-party applications are available. The CalDAV URLs provided in Webmail allow connection on a per-calendar or per-account basis with these applications.
